Bored as hell like yours truly? I have an idea; read this book: Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. It's awesome. It's a collaboration between two popular (as I'm told) young adult authors, Rachel Cohn & David Levithan. The whole story takes place in one crazy night in NYC when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for 5 minutes. That leads them to a night of fun, confusion, and discovery. And may I also mention that it's pretty damn sexy with a cherry on top.
Here's a book for the kid intrested in what the hipsters do on a Saturday night in the city. Here's a book for someone like me who's bored as hell during her winter break. Here's a book for someone who just likes to read. Here's a book for someone who likes a good soundtrack to go with their reading material. (If one of these doesn't fit your profile, read the book and let me know where you fit it).
And now here's an interesting quote from the book (read the book and "refresh" my memory about who said it and why don't cha!).
"'I Wanna Hold Your Hand.' First single. Fucking brilliant. Perhaps the most fucking brilliant song ever written. Because they nailed it. That's what everone wants. Not 24-7 hot wet sex. Not a marriage that lasts a hundred years. Not a Porsche or a blow job or a million-dollar crib. No. They wanna hold your hand. They have such a feeling that they can't hide. Every single successful love song of the past fifty years can be traced back to 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand.' And every single successful love story has those unbearable and unbearably exciting moments of hand-holding. Trust me. I thought a lot about this."
And there's more where that came from. There totally needs to be groups for this book on LiveJournal, MySpace, and Facebook. Actually there is one on Facebook, but it sucks.
--> now that's Class!c W!th A Tw!st
