I have been going to college long enough to know that there are certain staples on a college campus -- a blend of Abercrombie and Hollister (which seem like spin-offs of each other to me) with a little dash of Billabong here and there, low rise American Eagle jeans, Uggs for those chilly days, flip flops for everyday, the occassional "Lube It" shirt (or any other shirt with a dirty statement or alcohol logo on it), hoodies displaying school spirit, and bright neon sweats courtesy of Vicky S' Pink line. Just your everyday mix of sk8r boys, the trend-followers (or "trendies" as I like to call them), the All-American models, and the occassional rebel yeller. And then there's me. Where I fit into this mix, I have no idea. I'm just trying to find my own style.
It's an interesting process since I never really had a style with the whole wearing a uniform for 12 years and all. I never realized I could cook up some really hot looks from the stuff in my closet -- if I had known I would have been rockin' some killer styles on dress down days past. Oh well -- too little, too late. I'm just putting together things with a bit of help from my mom (yes, she made me put that) based on what I see people wearing on campus (which actually lets me know more what NOT to wear than what I SHOULD wear most of the time), and anything in and on fashion magazines and websites (Teen Vogue's my favorite and elle.com rocks!), and I guess you could say that celebrities give me a bit of inspiration as well sometimes (for example, Britney Spears taught me to wear underwear and how NOT to get out of a car if I don't).
So there they are -- my elements of style. Now my question to you is: what are yours?
